Offshore Sailing Team Ready for First Event

The College of Charleston is proud to field it’s first true Offshore Varsity team at the 2013 Harbor Cup!

Though new to collegiate offshore sailing ,  they are certainly not new to big boat racing as many are accomplished sailors with a wide range of experience , from Transpac to Bermuda Races and Farr 40 circuit racing to Class One Match Racing. They will lead the way for Charleston Sailing into a new arena that will hopefully open up a whole new array of opportunities for sailors coming to the college to enjoy the Cougar sailing program.

The team has been sailing together since late in the fall of 2012 and have enjoyed racing in the local Charleston Ocean Racing Circuit where they have been widely supported. Their coach, Ned Goss is an accomplished sailor himself and was a former member of the US Sailing team, a world champion in the Fireball Class and is  Dockmaster to the Charleston program and responsible for their fleet of 59 boats. The College of Charleston Offshore Sailing team is honored to join the 2013 Harbor Cup regatta!
