National Champions and ICSA Awards Night.

We did it.

For the second year in a row, the College of Charleston Sailing Team has claimed a National title.

We are proud to announce that we are your 2013 Gill Coed National Champions. Congratulations to the entire C of C Sailing Department, and to each and every member of the team on this huge accomplishment.

“To win the Coed National Championship three times in the last eight years is impressive,” CofC Head Coach Ward Cromwell said. “It was truly a group effort. We sailed really well the last three days. Ben (Spector) was able to stay consistent in B-Division and Juan (Maegli) and Cory (DeCollibus) were unbelievable in A-Division. The conditions were windy and choppy making for really long courses. But, they were able to put the boat through the water well and we had no major errors.”

The Cougars sailed an impressive series, lead by A-fleet skipper Juan Maegli, and finished  with 215pts throughout the 18 race series. There were 18 schools competing at the event, which was held in St. Petersburg, FL.
