The CofC Offshore Sailing Team is in New York for this weekend’s Larchmont Offshore Invitational. The Cougars will be represented by skipper Jay Greenfield, tactician Timmy Crann, primary trimmer Brandon Folkman, secondary trimmer Charles Essi, pit boss Corinne Durocher, mid-mast Hanna Horan, mastman Howie Meyers, and bowman Brent Burrows II.
The Offshore sailors will be a racing a J/109 in what is the largest collegiate Offshore event of the season, featuring 56 top-level big boat teams from Canada, France, and the U.S.
Additionally, the coed team will travel to the North Points #5 regatta in Wilmington, N.C., and the Lady Cougars will be sailing the Navy Fall Women’s regatta in Annapolis, Md. The Cougars will also host a scrimmage with St. Mary’s College of Maryland at the J. Stewart Walker Sailing Complex in Mt. Pleasant, S.C.

It’s Saturday, and Cougar Sailors are in New York, Maryland, and North Carolina preparing to get going at 3 events!
The Offshore Cougars will be sailing the Larchmont IOR in the J/109 fleet, the Lady Cougars will be competing at the Navy Fall Women’s regatta in Annapolis, and the co-ed team will be at North Points #4 in Wrightsville Beach.

The team in Wilmington has won the north points event! Thanks to straight firsts in B division and consistency in A.
It was another successful Saturday for the Cougars, as the College of Charleston Sailors showcased a strong win at North Points #4, posted two bullets at the Larchmont IOR Invitational, and boasted a strong performance at the Navy Fall Women’s event.
After day 1 of racing, the Offshore Cougars are currently in First in the J/109 class at the Larchmont Intercollegiate Offshore Regatta and the Lady Cougars are in Second overall at the Navy Fall Women’s regatta.
The Ladies are represented by Clerc Cooper & Chloe Dapp in A division, Kayla Gibson & Charlotte Saxe in B division, and Beka Schiff in C division.
Both teams will sail a final day of racing tomorrow, with plans to remain at the top of the score sheet.
The Lady Cougars have taken Third overall at the 3-division Navy Fall Women’s Regatta thanks to a consistent weekend of sailing in Annapolis!
The Ladies ended the regatta with 295pts (just 5pts out of second) after 15 races across the 3 divisions. The Cougars sailed against 17 of the top women’s teams in the nation on the road to a solid 3rd place finish.
After an impressive series, the College of Charleston Offshore Sailing Team beat out 12 other teams to take FIRST in the J/109 class at the Larchmont Intercollegiate Offshore Regatta!
The Offshore Cougars finished with just 9pts through 5 races, including 3 bullets, to win the very competitive J/109 fleet that featured a mix of top-notch collegiate teams from the U.S., Canada, and France.
