Youth Learn to Sail
We are sold out for the 2017 Summer Season!
The College of Charleston Sailing Association is excited to offer Sailing Camps for children ages 8 to 14.
Our youth sailing camps are designed to teach your child the basic fundamentals and introduce them to the amazing sport of sailing. The C of C sailing instructional staff will conduct teaching on the water aboard our brand new J/22 fixed keelboats.
The J/22 is a stable safe vessel and is a very responsive exciting boat to sail. As the campers develop their skills they may have the opportunity to advance to the Collegiate 420, which our nationally ranked varsity team sails and competes in. At the C of C Sailing camp, your child will learn safety on the water, basic sailing principles, and proper boat handling skills. The staff and instructors are skilled and passionate sailors who will share their enthusiasm with all their students and will hope to encourage your child to pursue future camps and events here at C of C Sailing!
The cost is $425 per camper for the 5 day program. Each session will be capped at 20 participants, and each day will run from 9am to 5pm.
Our College of Charleston sailing complex is located in the Patriots Point Marina in Mt Pleasant, adjacent to the Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina Hotel. Once on the main marina dock, turn right towards the Yorktown and follow the signs to C of C Sailing. Please feel free to visit the sailing center, inspect our fleet, and talk to our friendly staff, Ned Goss or Stefan Kuehn if you have any questions.
