College of Charleston Sailing offers 2 credit 1/2 Semester courses in both the spring and fall. These very popular PEAC courses fill up quickly. Students are trained in the safe and responsible operation of sailboats, as well as instruction in the proper care and maintenance of sailing vessels. This is a great way to learn a skill that can be enjoyed for a lifetime.
Our fleet of safe and responsive J-22 sailboats with keel are among the most widely used instructional boats in the nation. They been modified for instructional purposes, allowing for maximum safety and a comfortable sailing experience.
Our sailing complex is located at the Patriots Point Marina in Mount Pleasant, adjacent to the Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina Hotel. Once on the marina dock, follow the signs to CofC Sailing. Please feel free to visit the sailing center, inspect the fleet, and talk to our friendly staff.
