Kevin grew up sailing and racing on Lake Minnetonka in MN. As the “son of a son of a sailor” the sport came naturally to him and he quickly gained success regionally. Eventually he competed nationally where he reveled in the challenge and developed a passion for the sport. He was a two time All American and Team Captain at St. Mary’s College in MD where he earned a degree in Economics. Kevin placed 3rd in two Olympic Trials (Windsurfing and 49er) and has won National Championships in multiple one design classes. As a certified US Sailing Instructor Trainer he has helped develop or run numerous successful sailing programs throughout his career. In 2013 after moving to Charleston he married Carolina Davila, who sailed for CofC in the early 2000’s. Together they have two kids, Charlie and Sophie and live close to the sailing center in Mt. Pleasant. Kevin’s first son, Augie, graduated from CofC in 2019 after helping the team secure National Championships in both Team Racing and Coed Dinghies.
